Peer Mentoring
The mission of the D.R.E.A.M. Peer Mentoring program is to build relationships with students to help them adapt to a college environment and meet their educational and personal goals. D.R.E.A.M. stands for Dependable, Responsive, Excellent, Advisor and Mentor.
D.R.E.A.M. mentors serve as a liaison between mentees and their advisor providing resources and guidance as they face unique challenges.
What are Mentors?
Mentors listen objectively. They ask questions that encourage mentees to look at issues from a variety of perspectives and focus on decision-making and solutions. Mentors raise the bar regarding a mentee’s potential and provide support, encouragement, and constructive feedback. When a mentee commits to his/her academic success and joins D.R.E.A.M., everyone benefits.
