Mandatory annual Title IX training begins Oct. 12
To provide a safe and welcoming campus, Tennessee Board of Regents requires all Southwest employees to complete Title IX training. The Office of the Chief of Staff will launch the annual Title IX training program October 12 when Southwest employees will receive an email from Catharsis Productions that will provide instructions and a link to the training.
The yearly training is a part of Southwest’s ongoing efforts to assure higher levels of compliancy with applicable laws and regulations. Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any education program or activity that receives federal funding. Under Title IX, discrimination on the basis of sex can include sexual harassment, rape, and sexual assault.
For more information about Title IX training, please contact the Office of the Chief of Staff at equityandcompliance@southwest.tn.edu.
