Saluqi Corner: Maria Carrico named TCCAA Goalie of the week

Southwest Tennessee Community College freshman goalkeeper Maria Carrico was named
                     TCCAA/NJCAA (Tennessee Community College Athletic Association/National Junior College
                     Athletic Association) Region 7 'Women's Soccer Goalie of the Week' after leading the
                     Lady Saluqis to a 2-1 victory over Pellissippi State Community College in the conference
                     opening game on August 31, 2023. Earlier in the week, Carrico allowed just one goal
                     in a 1-1 tie against Wabash Valley.  In the two games, Carrico played all 180 minutes,
                     allowing just two goals with 15 saves. 
Carrico is a first-year student from Arlington High School in Memphis, Tennessee. She is studying General Studies and plans to graduate with an associate degree in University Parallel. Her brother, Jamie Carrico, was a baseball player at the College from 2003 – 2004.
