For both new and returning students, the College’s Welcome Center provides the information needed to start and finish each semester smoothly.
The Centers serve as a comprehensive support hub for students, from providing assistance with admissions and financial aid inquiries, to obtaining a student ID and guidance on how to navigate their academic journey.
According to Shannon Brown, assistant director of Admissions, who helps to coordinate the Welcome Centers, advisors are available to address a variety of student concerns including campus courses, programs, or enrollment.
Rosie Britton, director of Recruitment and K12 Partnerships, notes that advisors are readily available to help students by answering frequently-asked questions.
“We also assist continuing education students with their concerns,” said Britton. “For example, if a student has an issue with their student ID, we would help them figure out how to resolve it.”
Welcome Centers are located on the Macon Cove Campus (inside the Farris Building) and Union Avenue Campus (inside the M Building). The centers are open Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., for in-person service, and 8:00 a.m.- 4 :30 p.m., virtually.
Stay tuned for more information on the services provided by the Welcome Centers in upcoming issues of Scoop.
