Dr. Tracy D. Hall, president of Southwest Tennessee Community College, made historic news this holiday season as the Grand Marshal and first president of a college to lead the Memphis Christmas Parade. Staff, students, athletes and cheerleaders, joined Dr. Hall for the 27th annual parade that kicked off Nov. 18 in Whitehaven.

Hundreds of Memphians attended to watch and cheer on Southwest and the parade as it processed down the iconic Elvis Presley Boulevard. WDIA-AM radio personalities and friends of the College, Stan Bell and Bev Johnson were the official hosts of the event. Johnson also teaches communications at the College.

“I’m proud to have represented Southwest as Grand Marshal for the 27th Memphis Christmas Parade in Whitehaven. It was such an honor,” Hall said. “We are passionate about our students’ future, the communities we serve, and Southwest’s transformative impact on both.”
