Simplify your note-taking with GLEAN
By Marketing and Communications Staff
Southwest Tennessee Community College students will now have a more accessible way to take notes for class.
Compatible with various devices, GLEAN is a web and mobile app that simplifies note-taking. It works online or offline, records lectures and meetings, and transcribes audio into text.
GLEAN ensures equal access, independence, and improved learning for students with disabilities. It replaces note-takers, offers keyword search, and works seamlessly online or offline, promoting inclusive education.
GLEAN’s implementation will have a profound and positive impact on students, particularly those with disabilities.
Accessibility: GLEAN’s closed captions and transcription services ensure that all students, including
those with hearing impairments, have equal access to lecture content. This promotes
a more inclusive learning environment.
Independence: Students with disabilities will no longer have to rely on note-takers, gaining more
independence in managing their notes and study materials.
Enhanced Learning: The ability to transcribe audio into text and perform keyword searches, empowers
students to better comprehend and review lecture content. This feature aids in retaining
information and facilitates effective studying.
Flexible Accessibility: GLEAN’s compatibility with various devices and its ability to work both, online
and offline, caters to students’ diverse needs and learning environments.
Seamless Integration: GLEAN’s compatibility with popular platforms like Zoom, MS Teams, Google Meet and
Blackboard, ensures a smooth and integrated learning experience across different courses
and subjects.
GLEAN’s implementation will create a more inclusive and empowering learning environment, benefiting all students and significantly enhancing the educational experience for those with disabilities.
