Welcome Aboard: Sherita Robertson, Director of Financial Aid

Dr. Sherita Robertson is Southwest’s new Director of Financial Aid. Robertson brings to the College more than 23 years of financial aid experience to the role. Her expansive career in student services includes positions as a verification specialist, Banner consultant and interim director of Financial Aid. She has specific expertise in the Banner platform, having served as a system analyst on the enrollment management team charged with implementing the software at Grambling State University.
In addition to her financial aid experience, Robertson has worked in Development as an activity director of a Title III Enrollment Management Grant, where she collaborated with managers to devise enrollment strategies to help achieve admissions and student retention goals set forth by senior management.
Robertson earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Temple University (1990) and went on to serve in the United States Army until 1997 when she was honourably discharged. In 1999, she earned a Master of Public Administration degree with a concentration in management information systems and public policy from Troy University and the following year, earned a Doctorate of Education in developmental education with concentrations in student personnel and development and higher education administration.
She is a member of the Louisiana Association of Financial Aid Administrators, National Association of Financial Aid Administrators and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
She is the mother of a daughter, Maya M. Robertson, and a son, Terreill J. Robertson II.
