Fisher tackles corporate sustainability and the pandemic in latest book
By Diana Fedinec
Congratulations to Don Fisher, Executive Director of the Mid-South Quality and Productivity Center (MSQPC) on publishing his 18th book, Corporate Pandemic Assessment: A Baldrige-based Organizational Self-Assessment to Ensure Corporate Sustainability.
MSQPC is a program of Southwest and the Greater Memphis Chamber and a Center of Quality Emphasis for the Tennessee Board of Regents. Fisher has been the center’s director for 28 years.
“The publication of this book was very important to me because it will provide the foundation for organizations to rethink their workplace structures as they exist today and to invest in their workforce as core drivers of long-term resilience, sustainability and future success,” Fisher said. “This book can be part of the great reset effort organizations and companies need to support their transition to a fairer, more sustainable post-COVID world.”
Based on Baldrige Performance Excellence Criteria, the book is a comprehensive manual that will help organizations identify strengths and strategic opportunities for sustainability and provide a roadmap to improve an existing corporate pandemic plan or develop a new one.
According to Fisher, the manual will help organizations:
- Increase revenue and reduce costs
- Enhance their reputation, brand and market value
- Better attract and retain talented employees
- Align better with key suppliers/vendors
- Mitigate regulatory and business risks, and
- Address key environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations.
